« Operational social security coverage is an essential though oft neglected issue for military personnel.

Military work is dangerous by its very nature; this is what makes it noble, though also so demanding. It requires us to accept that, on occasion, there is a tragic payoff, as France’s current foreign engagements so painfully remind us.

State social security coverage for military personnel in case of death or disability does exist. However, the pays outs are not sufficient to compensate the damage done or to correctly provide for the family’s subsistence, particularly if the partner is unemployed.

This is also the case in many European countries. Recent events in the different theatres of war around the world have highlighted the essential need for wider coverage and demonstrated the effectiveness of private providence policies.

This is the thinking behind the work of the private insurance companies and AGPM in particular, which benefits from a long-established relationship with the military community. »

« Created nearly 60 years ago in France by military personnel, for military personnel, the Association Générale de Prévoyance Militaire (AGPM)’s core business has historically been the protection of military personnel.

Nowadays, it also uses its expertise to help those working in both the defence and security industries in France and Europe. The diversification of conflicts throughout the world has led to an increased number of foreign missions being undertaken by the armed forces.

As an integral part of the work of all military personnel, including reservists, foreign missions compel growing numbers to adopt a responsible attitude towards insurance; thinking ahead, protecting yourself and your family is both your duty and ours.

AGPM is keenly aware of the needs of its subscribers and offers death and disability insurance coverage that is valid at all times, in all places and in all circumstances (throughout both your professional and private lives).

The confidence and reputation built up through its work with French military personnel enabled AGPM to extend its expertise beyond French borders: Belgium, Spain and Germany – AGPM now possesses a full-fledged European set-up.

In these times of European Defence and increased French involvement in the Atlantic Alliance, AGPM’s priority remains supporting its French and foreign subscribers. »
